What we build
Appcodie builds custom water and flood damage inspection apps that organize observations by property, room and visit. The software can connect photos, manually entered or integrated instrument readings, notes and review history with your reporting workflow.
Design around repeat visits
A first inspection and a follow-up visit need a shared context. A custom water mitigation inspection app can let technicians reopen the same room, review earlier observations and add a new dated record without overwriting the original. That makes a before-and-after comparison easier to understand.
Decide whether your team needs visit scheduling, access instructions, task assignments or customer acknowledgements. Keep those operational steps separate from the professional judgement recorded by the person inspecting the property.
Keep readings and photos attributable
For a reading record, useful fields may include the room, measurement location, surface description, instrument identifier, value, unit and capture time. A photo or annotation can show where the reading was taken. Required fields should follow your agreed operating process.
LiDAR captures geometry; it does not replace moisture meters or specialist testing. An app can store instrument readings or integrate with a supported device, but the device protocol, permissions and error handling must be checked during discovery.
Build a reviewable before-and-after record
- Stable room identifiers: retain room context when labels or dimensions are corrected.
- Original evidence: preserve source photos alongside annotations and edited report images.
- Visit timeline: distinguish capture time, upload time and later reviewer changes.
- Missing information: let the office request a clearer photo or an additional observation.
Example workflow: a technician creates a kitchen observation on the first visit, adds new readings during a follow-up, and submits the record for review. The report can then show the sequence selected by an authorized reviewer rather than silently replacing the first result.
Reports for the people who use them
We can develop branded PDF outputs, structured exports and client access around the agreed data. A field supervisor may need a visit comparison; an office reviewer may need a list of missing items; an external recipient may need an approved report with selected attachments.
Water damage documentation and insurance claim decisions serve different purposes. See insurance inspection software development for capture-to-review integrations. For assignment and technician operations, explore restoration contractor apps.
Bring one real workflow to the first conversation
Share an anonymized first-visit record, a follow-up example and the final report layout. List instrument models, expected offline use and the number of people who may edit a job. Those inputs help define a small, testable first release.
For multi-region teams, decide how time zones, templates and branch permissions should work before adding locations. Our regional planning guide covers questions for U.S. operations.
Questions before you build
Can the app measure moisture with iPhone LiDAR?
No. LiDAR room geometry is not a moisture reading. We can scope manual reading entry or an integration with an appropriate instrument separately.
Can we work without a mobile connection?
Offline records and upload queues can be included. The project needs explicit rules for conflicts, device storage, retries and the moment a visit becomes visible to the office.
Can reports match our current template?
Share an anonymized template and sample data. We can assess the layout, required fields, attachments and approval steps needed to generate the agreed output.
Bring your workflow. Let’s define the next step.
Tell us who uses your software, what happens on site and what the office needs to receive. We’ll discuss a practical scope for your app or platform.
