At Imperial International School For Excellence, regular and punctual school attendance is
considered essential for academic success, social development, and continuity of learning. The
school strictly follows CBSE attendance norms to ensure students benefit fully from classroom
instruction, co-curricular activities, and holistic learning experiences.
All students are expected to attend school on every instructional day, arrive before the first bell,
and remain present for all scheduled periods unless officially excused. As per CBSE guidelines, a
minimum attendance of 75% to 80% is mandatory for eligibility in term-end examinations and
promotion to the next class. Students failing to meet the required attendance may be detained
unless exempted under exceptional circumstances.
Parents or guardians must inform the school in case of absence through a written note, email to the
class teacher, or message via the school ERP/portal before the start of the school day, wherever
possible. Absences without prior information or valid justification are recorded as unauthorized and
may lead to administrative review if repeated.
Medical leave exceeding three consecutive days must be supported by a doctor’s medical
certificate. In cases of prolonged illness, family emergencies, or special circumstances, parents must
notify the Principal’s Office in writing for necessary consideration.
Late arrivals are officially recorded. Students reporting after the school session begins must obtain
entry clearance from the School Office. Early departure during school hours requires a written
request from parents and formal sign-out approval.
Planned leave for personal reasons should be requested in advance. Approval is granted at the
discretion of the Principal or Attendance Committee. Students are responsible for completing
missed assignments, assessments, and classwork within the timeframe prescribed by teachers.
Attendance is monitored daily and shared regularly through the school diary, ERP, or portal.
Persistent absenteeism prompts communication and counselling to support student engagement.
Consistent attendance builds discipline, academic continuity, and positive peer interaction. The
school seeks active partnership with parents to uphold attendance standards and ensure student
success.
